The Wharfedale Diamond 12.3Di is a dedicated 2-way vertical channel surround speaker designed to bring immersive, 3D spatial audio and height/surround effects to home theater setups. As an expansion of the acclaimed Diamond 12 Series, the 12.3Di features a compact closed-box (acoustic suspension) cabinet engineered to envelop the listening area in a seamless dome of sound.
The speaker incorporates Wharfedale's signature Klarity™ polypropylene and mica cone driver driven by a precision motor system with an aluminum compensation ring and an epoxy/glass fiber voice coil bobbin for high power handling and ultra-low distortion. High frequencies are handled by a 25mm woven polyester dome tweeter optimized for wide dispersion, while the sealed cabinet features computer-modeled Intelligent Spot Bracing to eliminate panel resonances.

- Klarity™ Polypropylene Cone: Infused with mica to increase cone stiffness, reducing flexing and distortion for fast, accurate low-frequency reproduction.
- Low-Distortion Magnet System: Precision motor with an aluminum compensation ring minimizes variations in inductance as the voice coil travels.
- High-Power Epoxy/Glass Fiber Bobbin: Voice coil wound on a rigid epoxy/glass fiber bobbin to increase power handling and avoid eddy currents associated with aluminum bobbins.
- 25mm Coated Textile Dome Tweeter: Woven polyester film tweeter with a high-loss coating and flat, wide-dispersion front plate for extended, smooth treble response.
- Sealed Closed-Box Enclosure: Sealed cabinet design ensures tight transient response and easy placement against walls or on brackets for surround/height channels.
- Intelligent Spot Bracing: Computer-simulated internal wood bracing directly connects opposing walls to damp cabinet vibrations and reduce coloration.
