The EVO series concept originated from the same thorough research and development processes that characterised Wharfedales agship Elysian project. It was specically designed to bridge the gap between aordability and high-end performance. A notable feature of this series is the EVO AMT (Air Motion Transformer) high-frequency unit.
AMT Tweeter for Precision and Detail: In developing the new EVO 5 series, Wharfedale has further evolved the cutting-edge Air Motion Transformer (AMT). The AMT is a type of high-frequency driver used in speakers, known for its exceptional accuracy, speed, and low distortion compared to traditional dome treble units.
A new sound-absorbing material, Silentweave, has been added to the cavity behind the diaphragm to reduce sound wave reection and sound colouration inside the speaker. This material, a combination of cotton and felt bre, was specially developed for the EVO 5 series.
Wharfedales proprietary Slot Loaded Proled Port (SLPP) system eciently channels the rear output of the bass drivers into the room. The specially designed slot at the speaker's base equalises pressure to the room, reducing turbulence while enhancing low-frequency performance.

The SW series of subwoofers offer a level of performance previously unheard of in their class. Revolutionary drive units, amplifier modules and filter stages feature on every model. They strike the perfect balance between power and sound quality, offering remarkable sound pressure levels, yet retaining enough control to be considered audiophile in quality.
They now come with non-pressed paper cones for increase self-damping, improved transient impact and intern increased the structural rigidity of the cone itself. The centre vents are copper lined to reduce the magnetic distortion and improve the heat dissipation.
Still utilising the solid, well-engineered power amplifiers the SW subwoofers are optimised for high impact at low frequencies and are ideal for movies or music.
