The Thorens TD 1600 bridges classic heritage with modern precision engineering, featuring a traditional wooden plinth, a two-part aluminum platter driven by an inner belt, and an acrylic dust cover. Unlike classic sub-chassis designs, its conical suspension springs are bottom-mounted, and a steel tensioning thread grounds the sub-chassis to a base pin—limiting motion strictly to vertical movement and eliminating lateral wobble.
Equipped with an advanced electronic motor control unit for precise rotational stability, the TD 1600 comes fitted with the 9-inch Thorens TP 92 precision tonearm. Note: The TD 1600 ships without a cartridge installed.
