The Tannoy Legacy Series Cheviot is a 2-way floorstanding loudspeaker engineered for large listening rooms and studio environments. Reimagined from Tannoy's iconic HPD 1974 series, the Cheviot combines classic visual aesthetics with modern transducer design, upgraded crossover electronics, and high-density cabinet materials to deliver natural sound, wide dynamic range, and minimal coloration.
Handcrafted in Tannoy's UK and European workshops, the Cheviot is equipped with a 12-inch Dual Concentric point-source transducer capable of managing up to 500W peak power. The low-frequency section features a 300 mm paper pulp cone with a twin-roll impregnated fabric surround, paired with a 33 mm (1.3") aluminum-magnesium alloy dome compression driver. Complete with a twin front-ported enclosure, a front-mounted 2-band HF control panel, and Differential Materials Technology (DMT) internal bracing, the Cheviot offers precise soundstaging, articulate midrange, and deep low-frequency response down to 38 Hz.

- Aluminium-Magnesium Compression Driver: 33 mm (1.3") high-frequency driver with edge-wound voice coil delivers clean, fatigue-free high-frequency detail up to 30 kHz.
- Paper Pulp Cone with Twin-Roll Surround: 300 mm (12") woofer cone with a 52 mm (2") edge-wound voice coil provides high efficiency (91 dB) and fast bass transients.
- Front-Mounted 2-Band HF Control Panel: Integrated energy control panel allows room-tailored adjustments for high-frequency shelving (±3 dB) and roll-off slope (+2 dB to -6 dB/octave).
- Twin Distributed Front Porting: Front-firing port design minimizes wall-coupling boundary effects, enabling flexible room placement.
- High-Density Cabinet with DMT Bracing: Constructed from 19 mm MDF with heavily damped plywood internal bracing utilizing Differential Materials Technology to eliminate panel resonance.
- 5-Point Gold-Plated Binding Posts: Customized 24ct gold-plated terminals support bi-wiring/bi-amping and feature a fifth ground terminal to reduce RF interference and enhance midrange clarity.
- 8 mm Floor Coupling Spikes & Accessories: Includes heavy-duty adjustable floor spikes, carpet protectors, bi-wire bridging links, and Tannoy Prestige wood wax.
