Free from internal DACs, streaming platforms, or digital signal processing (DSP), the SGL7 concentrates entirely on signal path integrity. Volume attenuation is driven by a 12-bit R-2R resistor network controlled by sealed relays, providing 4,096 discrete steps from -54 dB to 0 dB in ultra-fine 0.25 dB increments with channel tracking error kept below 0.05 dB.
The preamplifier achieves impressive measured performance, boasting a noise floor below 3 µV, THD+N below -116 dB, SNR exceeding -126 dB, and crosstalk under -140 dB. Its 8 kg CNC-machined monocoque aluminium chassis houses a dual-isolated linear power supply that physically separates analogue audio rails from digital MCU control noise.
