Score: 4 / 5 Excellent
The Parasound NewClassic 275 v.2 is a compact, high-efficiency two-channel power amplifier designed for custom installation, home theater, and two-channel audio systems. Built around a proven fully discrete Class AB circuit topology and powered by a high-current toroidal transformer, the 275 v.2 delivers 90 Watts per channel into 8 Ohms, 150 Watts into 4 or 2 Ohms, and 200 Watts when bridged to mono into 4 or 8 Ohms across a slim 1U chassis design.
Featuring a dedicated low-impedance selector switch for stable 2 Ohm operation, the 275 v.2 easily handles demanding speaker loads or multiple pairs of distributed in-wall and ceiling speakers. It incorporates flexible system integration controls, including dual speaker outputs (A/B) with front-panel switching, an 18 dB/octave high-pass filter (switchable between 20 Hz and 40 Hz), rear-mounted gain controls, auto-sensing audio turn-on, and a 12V DC trigger loop. Protection circuitry includes DC Servo stabilization and thermal overload relays.
KEY FEATURES & PROPRIETARY TECHNOLOGIES
- Fully Discrete Class AB Topology: Combines a high-current toroidal transformer with discrete components to deliver up to 20 Amps peak current per channel.
- Dedicated 2-Ohm Load Impedance Selector: Rear-panel switch optimizes voltage rails to ensure cool, stable operation when driving difficult 2-Ohm loads or parallel speaker chains.
- Bridged Mono Power Configuration: Can be switched to operate as a 200 Watt mono power amplifier into 8-Ohm or 4-Ohm loads.
- Switchable High-Pass Filter (20 Hz / 40 Hz): 18 dB/octave filter prevents low-frequency distortion in satellite speakers, acting as a subsonic filter for sub/sat configurations.
- Dual Speaker Outputs with A/B Control: Front-panel buttons allow independent selection of two speaker pairs, backed by a rear lockout switch to prevent accidental tampering.
- Flexible Automated Power On/Off: Auto-turn-on via 12V DC trigger loop or signal-sensing audio detector with two selectable sensitivity thresholds.
- Compact 1U Rack-Mount Chassis: Slim 1U form factor with available rack-mount hardware (RMK11) maximizes space efficiency in equipment racks.

Our Grading Guarantee
All equipment listed on this site undergoes a multi-point inspection by our staff. While we use a standardised 1–5 Grading Scale, please note that "pre-owned" implies some degree of previous life. We strive for transparency and use the following terms:
- Visual Inspection: Condition grades are subjective but applied conservatively. We provide high-resolution photography of the actual unit for sale (no stock photos). We encourage buyers to zoom in on all images as they constitute part of the formal product description.
- Functional Testing: Unless labelled Grade 1 , all units have been tested for power, input/output integrity, and basic mechanical operation. Vintage units (20+ years) are tested for "period-appropriate" functionality; unless specified, internal components like capacitors are original.
- "Fair" Exclusions: Items graded 1 (Fair) are sold strictly for parts or repair. These items are ineligible for returns, refunds, or "Item Not as Described" claims regarding their condition.
- Return Window: If a unit arrives in a condition significantly different than its assigned grade (e.g., a Grade 4 unit arrives with a shattered faceplate), you must notify us within 24 hours of delivery.

Looks "used" but has been respected.
Good
Functional, but shows its age.
Fair
Functional, but may have some damage or missing parts.
