The Mission 778X is a compact integrated amplifier and digital-to-analogue converter that revisits classic 1980s Mission styling while incorporating comprehensive modern audio connectivity. Reimagining the original Mission 778 concept, the 778X features tactile rotary control knobs ringed with LED level indicators, an integrated JFET Moving Magnet phono stage, and Class AB power amplification delivering 45 watts per channel into 8 ohms (65 watts into 4 ohms).
Equipped with an ESS Sabre32 ES9018K2M Reference DAC, the 778X processes high-resolution digital audio files up to 32-bit/384kHz PCM and native DSD256 via asynchronous PC USB, as well as 24-bit/192kHz via coaxial and optical inputs. Wireless streaming is supported via Bluetooth 5.0 with aptX and AAC codecs. The unit also includes a dedicated high-slew-rate headphone amplifier section, preamp outputs for power amplifier expansion, and digital outputs for external routing.
