The Matrix Audio MD-1 and MD-1P are all-in-one streaming integrated amplifiers from the flagship Reference M Series, combining an audiophile digital music streamer, an AKM VelvetSound DAC stage, and ultra-low-distortion Class-D power amplification in a single chassis. Delivering 2x 150W RMS @ 8 Ω (MD-1) or 2x 300W RMS @ 8 Ω (MD-1P), both models drive demanding loudspeaker loads with ease. The higher-tier MD-1P expands connectivity further with two pairs of gold-plated pure copper speaker terminals (enabling A/B remote switching) and dual subwoofer pre-outputs for larger listening environments.
Powered by an AK4499EX/AK4191EQ VelvetSound D/A chip, dual custom femtosecond clocks, and an FPGA jitter-reduction pipeline, the MD-1 series offers comprehensive digital and analog connectivity—including HDMI eARC, USB, optical, coaxial, XLR balanced line-in (with Home Theater Bypass mode), and a built-in MM phono stage. On-board network capabilities include Gigabit Ethernet, Wi-Fi 6, Roon Ready, AirPlay 2, and TIDAL Connect. Additionally, an internal NVMe SSD slot with an isolated low-noise power supply allows the unit to double as a network-attached storage (NAS) music server or rip CDs directly when connected to an external USB optical drive.

- Expandable NVMe Storage & CD Ripping: M.2 NVMe SSD expansion slot with an ultra-low-noise power supply supports local storage, SMB network sharing, NAS functionality, and USB CD drive ripping via the MA Remote App.
- Extensive Wireless & Streaming Ecosystem: Supports Roon Ready, TIDAL Connect, Spotify Connect, AirPlay 2, DLNA/UPnP, Wi-Fi 6, Gigabit LAN, and Bluetooth 5.0 with aptX HD and LDAC.
