The Denafrips Terminator 15th Anniversary Edition is a flagship digital-to-analogue converter built around a true balanced 26-bit discrete R-2R ladder network and 6-bit DSD decoding architecture. Marking 15 years of digital engineering from Denafrips, the Terminator 15th utilises hand-matched 0.005% precision thin-film resistor arrays alongside an encapsulated linear power supply. Housed in a brushed aluminium chassis with an internal steel divider plate, its power section incorporates dual O-core transformers wound with a high-purity gold, silver, and copper alloy wire to supply clean DC power to separate digital and analogue boards.
Timing accuracy and jitter suppression are managed by dual Oven-Controlled Crystal Oscillators (OCXO) running at 45.1584MHz and 49.152MHz, combined with an adaptive FPGA FIFO buffering and reclocking engine. Physical isolation between the digital processing board and the R-2R ladder network ensures low noise and wide dynamic headroom. Capable of supporting PCM formats up to 1536kHz and native DSD1024 over USB and I²S connections, the DAC includes high-precision BNC master clock outputs (44.1kHz to 49.152MHz) to synchronise external digital transports.
