The Denafrips Apollo is a flagship fully discrete, Class AB stereo power amplifier engineered to deliver high-current power drive to demanding loudspeaker loads. Building upon the topology of the Hyperion power amplifier, the Apollo incorporates a custom-wound 2,000VA copper-shielded toroidal transformer backed by massive reservoir capacitor banks and high-speed Schottky diodes. Operating in a true balanced configuration across both channels, the power section utilises 16 matched pairs of bipolar junction transistors (BJT) per channel to generate a conservative 250 Watts RMS into 8 Ohms (500 Watts RMS into 4 Ohms).
Housed in a 55 kg precision-machined aluminium chassis, the Apollo features modular power amplifier circuit blocks designed to handle complex loudspeaker impedance dips with ease. Its balanced XLR inputs accept source signals directly, maintaining low noise and wide dynamic range. Due to its true balanced differential output topology, the speaker terminals cannot be connected to high-level subwoofer inputs, ensuring dedicated, uncompromised drive directly to passive stereo loudspeakers.
