The Cayin Soul 170HA (Type UK Model) is a flagship two-chassis vacuum tube headphone amplifier and Class A integrated speaker amplifier. Specially manufactured for the UK market with bespoke 240V transformers, the Soul 170HA features a twin Tung-Sol KT170 beam tetrode output section operating in single-ended Class A configuration, paired with 6SN7 voltage amplification driver tubes and dual JJ GZ34S tube rectifiers.
Designed around an outboard power supply connected via industrial aviation-grade quick-release cables, the Soul 170HA isolates sensitive audio stages from transformer vibration and electrical noise. The amplifier features custom hand-wound output transformers for driving both passive loudspeakers and demanding headphones, dynamic auto-bias circuitry, 128-step electronic ladder volume control, point-to-point hand wiring, and selectable Triode/Ultralinear operation modes combined with dual tonality settings.

- Dynamic Auto-Bias Servo Circuit: Automatically monitors and sets optimal bias levels for output tubes, extending tube life without requiring manual adjustments.
- Selectable Triode / Ultralinear Modes: Allows switching between smooth, textured Triode mode and open, dynamic Ultralinear mode.
- Precision Volume Control System: Combines a physical ALPS carbon film potentiometer with dual JRC MUSES72320V electronic resistor ladder chips for 128 volume levels with 0dB channel gain imbalance.
- Point-to-Point Hand Wiring & BMI Protection: Point-to-point hand-wired signal paths combined with a Bias Monitoring Indicator (BMI) protection system that shuts down the circuit if abnormal tube conditions are detected.
