The Canton Reference 5 is a high-performance 3-way floorstanding loudspeaker manufactured in Germany to exacting acoustic standards. Designed around the "Form Follows Function" philosophy, the cabinet features curved side walls, top, and bottom sections, paired with 5-axis CNC-milled rounded front baffles to reduce cabinet resonances and optimize off-axis dispersion. Low frequencies are handled by a down-firing bass reflex system coupled with a high-capacity internal cabinet volume.
The speaker utilizes dual 174 mm Black Ceramic Tungsten (BCT) woofers and a dedicated 174 mm BCT midrange driver housed in its own isolated chamber. The BCT diaphragms convert 25% of the aluminum molecular structure into ceramic, infused with tungsten and metal particles for an exceptional stiffness-to-weight ratio and low harmonic distortion. High frequencies are reproduced by a 25 mm Black Aluminum Oxide Ceramic (BC) dome tweeter. Signal connections are managed via German WBT nextgen™ binding posts with bi-wiring/bi-amping support, complete with Canton's Room Compensation (RC) technology for fine-tuning mid and high frequencies in 1.5 dB steps.

- Down-Firing Bass Reflex System: Bottom-ported bass guide system enhances low-frequency response down to 21 Hz while simplifying room placement.
- WBT nextgen™ Terminals with Bi-Wiring/Bi-Amping: High-grade binding posts equipped with Room Compensation (RC) level adjustments (±1.5 dB for midrange and treble) and hard-gold-plated copper jumper bridges.
- Latest-Generation Wave Surrounds: Precision-engineered surrounds ensure smooth, linear diaphragm excursion and low-distortion performance during high-volume transients.
