Developed by Michael Børresen and Flemming Erik Rasmussen, the Børresen C1 is a reference 2-way stand-mount loudspeaker designed for high-end stereo systems in small to medium-sized listening spaces. The cabinet is constructed from dense hardwood laminates reinforced with 1mm carbon fiber side panels for maximum acoustic rigidity and resonance control. It comes complete with custom-designed matching stands made from non-magnetic composite materials, equipped with integrated Ansuz Darkz S2t resonance control decouplers to isolate the speaker system from floor vibrations.
Its driver complement combines an ultralight RP94 planar ribbon tweeter (0.01g moving mass, 94 dB efficiency) with a custom 5-inch Børresen DCC5 Neo bass/midrange driver. The DCC5 Neo driver utilizes a tri-layer composite membrane—an aramid honeycomb core sandwiched between carbon fiber skins—to deliver low distortion and rapid transient dynamics. Managing frequency distribution is a phase-coherent serial crossover network engineered to preserve phase alignment and ensure seamless driver integration.
