Score: 4 / 5 Excellent
The AURALiC ARIES is a dedicated wireless streaming bridge designed to connect network-attached storage (NAS) and online streaming services directly to an external DAC. Capable of processing high-resolution digital audio formats including PCM up to 384kHz and Double-Rate DSD (DSD128), the ARIES enables existing DACs to access modern network streaming sources without introducing timing errors or noise.
Equipped with dual-band Wi-Fi, Gigabit Ethernet, and USB inputs, the unit features AURALiC's patented ActiveUSB output alongside S/PDIF optical, coaxial, and AES/EBU digital outputs. Control is managed via AURALiC's Lightning DS platform, allowing users to navigate local music libraries and streaming platforms such as Qobuz, alongside support for AirPlay and Songcast protocols.
KEY FEATURES & PROPRIETARY TECHNOLOGIES
- ActiveUSB Output Technology: Low-jitter buffered USB audio host output designed to provide clean digital signal transfer to compatible external DACs.
- High-Resolution Format Compatibility: Supports PCM sample rates from 44.1kHz up to 384kHz (16 to 32-bit), as well as native DSD64 and Double-Rate DSD128 over USB.
- Lightning DS Control Platform: Custom control ecosystem for browsing network libraries, adjusting system hardware settings, and accessing high-resolution streaming services.
- Comprehensive Digital Connectivity: Features S/PDIF (TOSLink, Coaxial) and AES/EBU outputs alongside dual-band Wi-Fi and Gigabit Ethernet for network stability.
- Broad Protocol Support: Compatible with local UPnP/DLNA servers, AirPlay, Songcast, and direct USB hard drive playback.
- On-Device OLED Display: Integrated 256x64-pixel OLED display provides clear readout of track metadata, sample rates, and system status.

Our Grading Guarantee
All equipment listed on this site undergoes a multi-point inspection by our staff. While we use a standardised 1–5 Grading Scale, please note that "pre-owned" implies some degree of previous life. We strive for transparency and use the following terms:
- Visual Inspection: Condition grades are subjective but applied conservatively. We provide high-resolution photography of the actual unit for sale (no stock photos). We encourage buyers to zoom in on all images as they constitute part of the formal product description.
- Functional Testing: Unless labelled Grade 1 , all units have been tested for power, input/output integrity, and basic mechanical operation. Vintage units (20+ years) are tested for "period-appropriate" functionality; unless specified, internal components like capacitors are original.
- "Fair" Exclusions: Items graded 1 (Fair) are sold strictly for parts or repair. These items are ineligible for returns, refunds, or "Item Not as Described" claims regarding their condition.
- Return Window: If a unit arrives in a condition significantly different than its assigned grade (e.g., a Grade 4 unit arrives with a shattered faceplate), you must notify us within 24 hours of delivery.

Mint
Visually and mechanically indistinguishable from a new unit.
Excellent
Extremely clean. The item has been handled with care and shows only the slightest signs of use.
Very Good
Looks "used" but has been respected.
Good
Functional, but shows its age.
Fair
Functional, but may have some damage or missing parts.
