From AudioQuest:
PSC+ Conductors: Solid conductors prevent strand interaction, a major source of cable distortion. Extremely high-purity Perfect-Surface Copper+ (PSC+) minimizes distortion caused by grain boundaries which exist within any metal conductor, nearly eliminating harshness and greatly increasing clarity compared to OFHC, OCC, 8N and other coppers.
PE AIR-TUBES: Air is a nearly perfect dielectric. Once DBS is attached (for 2 weeks), the normal irritation caused by un-biased PE Air-Tubes is eliminated.
DIELECTRIC-BIAS SYSTEM (DBS, US Pat #7,126,055): All insulation slows down the signal on the conductor inside. When insulation is un-biased, it slows down parts of the signal differently, a big problem for very time sensitive multi-octave audio.
AudioQuests DBS creates a strong stable electrostatic field which saturates and polarizes (organizes) the molecules of the insulation. This minimizes both energy storage in the insulation and the multiple nonlinear time-delays. Sound appears from a surprisingly black background with unexpected detail and dynamic contrast. The DBS packs batteries will last for years. A test button and LED allow for the occasional battery check.
NOISE-DISSIPATION SYSTEM: 100% shield coverage is easy. Preventing captured RF Interference from modulating the equipments ground-reference requires AQs Noise-Dissipation System. Metal and Carbon-Loaded synthetics prevent most RFI from reaching the equipments ground-plane.
TRIPLE-BALANCED: The 3 conductors in Triple-Balanced Columbia cables insure that whether prepared with RCA or XLR plugs, the positive and negative signals have equally low distortion conducting paths. The 100% coverage shield is never used as an inferior conductor.
COLD-WELD SYSTEM: Novel plug design enables a perfect heat-free connection between cable and plug.

Our Grading Guarantee
All equipment listed on this site undergoes a multi-point inspection by our staff. While we use a standardised 1–5 Grading Scale, please note that "pre-owned" implies some degree of previous life. We strive for transparency and use the following terms:
- Visual Inspection: Condition grades are subjective but applied conservatively. We provide high-resolution photography of the actual unit for sale (no stock photos). We encourage buyers to zoom in on all images as they constitute part of the formal product description.
- Functional Testing: Unless labelled Grade 1 , all units have been tested for power, input/output integrity, and basic mechanical operation. Vintage units (20+ years) are tested for "period-appropriate" functionality; unless specified, internal components like capacitors are original.
- "Fair" Exclusions: Items graded 1 (Fair) are sold strictly for parts or repair. These items are ineligible for returns, refunds, or "Item Not as Described" claims regarding their condition.
- Return Window: If a unit arrives in a condition significantly different than its assigned grade (e.g., a Grade 4 unit arrives with a shattered faceplate), you must notify us within 24 hours of delivery.

Mint
Visually and mechanically indistinguishable from a new unit.
Excellent
Extremely clean. The item has been handled with care and shows only the slightest signs of use.
Very Good
Looks "used" but has been respected.
Good
Functional, but shows its age.
Fair
Functional, but may have some damage or missing parts.
