The Astell&Kern SP4000T is a flagship portable digital audio player (DAP) designed to bridge the warmth of analogue sound with digital precision. As the first DAP to feature four Raytheon JAN6418 vacuum tubes, the SP4000T offers three distinct tube sound signatures (Triode, Ultra Linear, and Pentode) alongside a Triple Amplifier System that lets users toggle between Tube Amp, OP Amp, and Hybrid Amp modes. Built with a dual-DAC setup utilizing dual AKM AK4191EQ modulators and dual AKM AK4499EX DACs, it provides complete separation between digital and analogue signal paths for ultra-low noise performance.
Housed in a precision stainless steel and copper chassis with a multi-layer vibration isolation system, the SP4000T features a 6-inch 2K (2160 x 1080) touchscreen and runs on an open Android OS with Astell&Kern's Direct Path technology for bit-perfect streaming. Supporting PCM up to 32-bit/768kHz and native DSD512 decoding, it offers High Driving Mode for demanding headphones, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2 with LDAC/LHDC/aptX HD support, and balanced 4.4mm output. Each unit includes a handcrafted Italian vegetable-tanned leather case.
