The AudioQuest Yosemite Tonearm Cable is a high-performance analog phono interconnect engineered specifically to transmit delicate, low-level micro-signals from turntable tonearms to phono preamplifiers without distortion or RF degradation. Available in a 1.2-meter length with a choice of straight or 90° angled DIN connectors to two RCA plugs, it includes an integrated external grounding wire to eliminate hum.
At its core, the Yosemite Tonearm cable uses solid core Perfect-Surface Copper+ (PSC+) conductors insulated by FEP Air-Tubes to minimize energy storage and phase smearing. AudioQuest’s active 72V Dielectric-Bias System (DBS) maintains a stable electrostatic field across the insulation to reduce non-linear time delays. Signal purity is further safeguarded by a 3-Layer Carbon-Based Noise-Dissipation System (NDS) and double-balanced asymmetrical geometry terminated with solderless, cold-welded direct-silver plated Red Copper RCA plugs.
KEY FEATURES & PROPRIETARY TECHNOLOGIES
- Solid Perfect-Surface Copper+ (PSC+) Conductors: Ultra-pure solid-core copper with an exceptionally smooth surface eliminates strand-interaction distortion and grain-boundary interference.
- FEP Air-Tube Insulation: Utilizes Fluorinated Ethylene Propylene air-tubes to keep conductor contact with solid dielectric materials to a minimum, preserving dynamic contrasts and signal speed.
- 72V Dielectric-Bias System (DBS): Polarizes and saturates the cable's insulation with a continuous 72V electrostatic field, preventing dielectric energy absorption and time-delay distortion.
- Carbon-Based 3-Layer Noise-Dissipation System (NDS): Alternating layers of metal and carbon-synthetics absorb and reflect RFI before it can reach the ground plane and modulate the audio signal.
- Double-Balanced Asymmetrical Geometry: Separates single-ended positive and negative signal paths from the ground shield for lower ground impedance and lower noise floor.
- Cold-Welded Direct-Silver Plated Red Copper Plugs: Solderless cold-welded RCA terminations using direct silver plating over pure Red Copper eliminate solder-induced distortion.
- Integrated Grounding Conductor: Features a dedicated separate grounding wire alongside split-tail terminations (5 cm split length) for straightforward turntable grounding.
