The Aavik SD-288 is a reference high-resolution streamer and DAC engineered by Audio Group Denmark to bridge digital versatility with natural, analog-like presentation. Designed in collaboration by Flemming Erik Rasmussen and Michael Børresen, the SD-288 combines Aavik’s chipless, non-switching Continuum Processing DAC—which converts all digital signals to high-resolution DSD512 via a custom FPGA—with an intuitive network streaming platform. Housed in a low-resonance, non-magnetic enclosure, it eliminates digital switching hash and micro-vibrations to preserve spatial depth and harmonic authenticity.
At the core of the SD-288 is a sine-wave Resonant Mode Power Supply that delivers ultra-clean power with low noise and dynamic current reserves. The unit incorporates a specialized Ansuz noise-suppression matrix—featuring 72 active Tesla coils, 144 active square PCB Tesla coils, 6 3rd-generation analog dither circuits, and 1 Gold Anti-Aerial Resonance Coil (Gold AARC) wound around a zirconium core. This comprehensive technology actively neutralizes electrical noise, RF interference, and power line fluctuation to reveal stunning dynamic resolution and transparency.
KEY FEATURES & PROPRIETARY TECHNOLOGIES
- Chipless Continuum Processing DAC: Custom-programmed FPGA converts all incoming digital audio directly to DSD512 without standard DAC chips or switching distortion.
- High-Resolution Network Streaming: Native support for DLNA 1.5 and UPnP AV 1.0 protocols for lossless network streaming and high-resolution playback.
- Gold Anti-Aerial Resonance Coil (Gold AARC): Dual-coil design built around a zirconium core with gold- and silver-plated copper windings to eliminate airborne RF noise.
- Ansuz Active Tesla Coil Matrix: Outfitted with 72 active Tesla coils and 144 active square PCB Tesla coils to suppress power supply hash and voltage spikes.
- 3rd-Gen Analog Dither Technology: Radar-derived anti-phase dither frequency technology (6 circuits) that lowers the noise floor to expose subtle ambient micro-details.
- Fully Isolated Digital Architecture: Galvanically isolated asynchronous USB input alongside dual BNC S/P-DIF and TOSLINK optical digital connections.
- Resonant Mode Power Supply: Power-factor-corrected sine-wave power supply that adjusts frequency dynamically to handle sudden power demands without introducing distortion.
