One task. Perfectly performed.

The definitive digital source for your high-end DAC.

Audio Emotion Limited

For the digital purist, a dedicated CD transport is the ultimate way to experience physical media. By removing the internal DAC and analogue circuitry, these units focus entirely on one critical task: reading the disc with absolute mechanical precision. Our collection features high-stability drives designed to eliminate vibrations and jitter before the signal ever reaches your converter. Whether you are pairing a compact Pro-Ject transport with a desktop DAC or integrating a reference-grade Audiolab or TEAC unit into a flagship system, these specialized drives ensure that the data stream remains bit-perfect and uncompromised. Discover the silent, steady heart of a truly high-performance digital front end.

High-End CD Transports & Drive Mechanisms.

A traditional CD player houses a rapidly spinning motor, a moving laser, a digital processor, and a delicate analog output stage all inside the same metal box. The electrical and physical noise generated by the motors inevitably bleeds into the analog signal. A CD Transport solves this by performing the mechanical reading and then instantly exporting the raw digital data. It leaves the sensitive translation process entirely to your external DAC. Click through the tabs below to understand the extreme lengths these machines go to in order to achieve a perfect read.

What is Missing is What Makes it Great

The Anatomy of a Transport

If you look at the back of a dedicated CD Transport, you will notice something missing: there are no analogue outputs.

  • Zero Analogue Circuitry: A transport contains no DAC chips, no op-amps, and no analogue output stages. It only outputs a digital signal (1s and 0s).
  • The Benefit: Because there is no analogue audio being processed inside the chassis, it is impossible for the noisy digital motors and servo controllers to introduce electrical interference into your music. You get a massively lowered noise floor and a dramatic increase in spatial resolution.
