It is developed employing the strongest design features derived from its siblings but\u003cbr\u003eexhibits updated internal audiophile-class components and multi-layer circuit boards.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe design builds upon the classic QUAD sound, adding increased clarity and definition but foremost\u003cbr\u003eensuring that the integrity of musical performance is more accessible and that the artists message\u003cbr\u003eis distinctly conveyed despite deficiencies in the recording.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eKey to the Artera Monos design is QUADs patented current dumping technology developed by\u003cbr\u003eQUADs legendary founder Peter Walker. In the Artera Monos current dumping circuit, a very\u003cbr\u003ehigh-quality Class AB low-power amp provides the details of the signal, while a high-power\u003cbr\u003ecurrent dumping section provides the grip to keep the speakers under control.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis technology eliminates the problems of crossover distortion, thermal tracking and transistor matching.\u003cbr\u003eConsequently, there are no internal adjustments or alignments and the choice of power transistor\u003cbr\u003etypes is less restrictive.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFollowing Peter Walkers famous quote that the perfect amplifier would be 'a piece of wire with gain',\u003cbr\u003einferring that the least complication to the signal path is desired, signal purity is imperative in any\u003cbr\u003eQUAD design, the Artera Mono takes this concept to a new level with the use of OCC cabling at\u003cbr\u003ethe output stage.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eOCC (Ohno Continuous Cast) is derived from a process that was developed to help defeat\u003cbr\u003eannealing issues and virtually eliminate all grain boundaries in copper or silver with a unique\u003cbr\u003epatented process.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe OCC casting method uses specialized heated moulds in order to draw a\u003cbr\u003esingle crystal up to 125 meters in length. With only a single crystal in very long lengths, there is an\u003cbr\u003eunimpeded free path for the best possible signal transfer.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAlong with this superior, singularcrystal structure, OCC provides copper and silver with the least possible oxides and other impurities.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn high contrast to OCC, the materials traditionally used in audio electronics is classed as\u003cbr\u003eOFC (Oxygen Free Copper). OFC has around 400 crystals per foot and despite its\u003cbr\u003ename, OFC typically has an oxygen content of about 10 ppm.
